Elle brûle / SHOW

We are at the beginning of an enquiry. Evidence has been gathered : pieces of jewelry, a medical cabinet, dolls, witness accounts. Different clues into the mystery of Emma. As if everyone involved, in the aftermath of the tragedy, was trying obsessively to give voice to what had gone unsaid. Elle brûle (Emma’s Burning) is about falling into debt, lies and self-deception. In reality, Elle brûle is based on true events, reported in the news, and a famous novel itself based on a news item.

Elle brûle (Emma’s Burning) is the second part of a cycle dedicated to Madame Bovary. The first episode,  Le bal d’Emma premiered on 2 June 2012 during the Ambivalence(s) Festival organised by the Comédie de Valence Theatre.
